Services

Currently, we are converting swing-axle and IRS Volkswagen Beetles to electric. (1954-79 VW Beetles)

If demand for other vehicles increases, we may consider expanding our services to other vehicles. However, our purpose is to convert as many classic vehicles to electric as possible, and we don't do one-off conversions. We use components and methodologies which have been tested and proven for years which will have long-term support options. This includes the NetGain HyPer 9 IS motor and controller, and the Orion BMS2.

Our EV upgrades start at [to be determined]. All components and labor included.

Our team can convert your classic Beetle to electric in about 6 to 8 weeks.

Step 1: Reservation
Provide a deposit to reserve your spot on our schedule. The deposit is fully refundable up until the point your car is delivered. If you cancel and your deposit is refunded, future reservations will put you in the back of the line.
Step 2: Interview
We will reach out to discuss your project, your goals, and the various configuration options before we perform the build, which will define exactly how your completed car will drive. We do not do any body, pan, interior, or mechanical restoration during the EV conversion process. The condition you deliver the vehicle to us is the same condition we will return it. We may perform some small repairs / improvements to the low-voltage system as needed (6v or 12v).
Step 3: Shipping
We need the car to be on-site approximately 1-3 weeks before the scheduled start, no earlier. If you are in the northeast US (within 6-8 hours of Philadelphia) then we may be able to pick up and deliver your car for you. Otherwise, we can recommend options for transport. At this point the second deposit will be due for the system components.
Step 4: Assessment
Once your vehicle arrives at our location, we will do an initial assessment and provide a report of the overall condition of the vehicle as we received it, including photos and video. If your car is in drivable condition, we may take it for a SHORT drive to confirm the operation of the suspension, steering, brakes, and transmission. However, your engine does not need to run in order for us to perform the conversion. You may even prefer to remove the engine for preservation or resale before shipping the car to us.
Step 5: Conversion
We begin the conversion process. Our team works full time on YOUR conversion only for 3 to 6 weeks until complete. We will initially remove the exhaust, engine, gas tank, and other components related to the gasoline system. If you want these components returned, we can palletize and return ship them after the removal process. Otherwise, they will be discarded or scrapped.
Step 6: Fine Tuning
When we are ready for fine tuning, you are welcome to be on site to participate. Otherwise we will perform the tuning per our discussions during the interview. Any additional questions or concerns we have at this time will be brought to your attention. We will communicate the progress of the conversion with you throughout the entire process.
Step 7: Delivery
We will do video walk-around and provide you with a full set of completion photos. Also, a test drive will be performed and recorded for your review. Final payment is due at this point. Once payment is received, you can arrange for pickup at our location or delivery if you are within our delivery range. If you are unable to take delivery within 3 weeks of completion, additional storage fees will be charged. We will store your converted vehicle at a high quality, climate controlled facility at your additional cost until you are ready for pickup or delivery.
